Crafty Secrets #126 and Sew Many Cards

Good Morning Everyone!

I have a very busy day planned but before I get started I wanted to share a few creations with you.  First is my card for the Crafty Secrets challenge posted yesterday on the SCS Crafty Secrets forum.  Our hostess, Lori Lynn, has asked us to use the colors Red, White & Blue but in a non-patriotic way.  The girls are really coming up with some amazing creations.  You can view them HERE in the CSSC126 gallery.  This is what I came up with.

This adorable image comes from the Crafty Secrets Homemade Booklet and the sentiment is Inkadinkado.  Aren't these kids adorable!!!  If you look closely, it is bordered with Diamond Stickles to give it that little added sparkle.
*******
Next are a couple of cards created using adorable digi images from Sew Many Cards & Digital Stamps.  Angela is so talented and her creations are too cute!!
First is a fun image called "Eris watering flower on a spring day".  I actually was able to use up some of the scraps laying about on this creation and am very pleased with the outcome.

Next is this sweet hummingbird image called "Halo the Hummingbird" and I think I will send this to "someone special ... you know who you are" ... who is always going in 10 different directions at the same time!!

I've colored my image using Prismacolor markers then after cutting it out with a Fiskars swivel craft knife, I layered it over a panel of white which was cut out with the Nestabilities Blossom die.  Faux stitching was done with a fine tip black marker ... as was the stitching on the sentiment panel.

Okay ... play time is over for now!  I'd better get my work done!  The weather here in N.E. Ohio is in the low 70s (perfect for working outdoors ... in my opinion) so I'd better get to it!!  Happy Day to you all and thanks so much for stopping by!

Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #60

WHOO HOO!!
I'm thrilled to share the news that I was last week's Gold Star Award Winner at the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge!
How awesome is that!!

For this week's Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #60, I started out with the CAS layout but ended up with the FANCY layout.  That's only one of the really FUN things about this challenge!

This is the "CAS" layout.  The image is from Magic Moonlight (link can be found on my "vintage creations & links" page) and the designer papers are 7Gypsies & DCWV.  This beautiful trim is from a package I just received from Joan's Gardens and it is Webster Pages Trim package.  (sorry, I think they have discontinued this line ... I was lucky to get one!!)

After taking the photo, I just couldn't help myself (it was too plain) I looked through my lace & flowers to see if I had something to match ... and YIPPEE ... I did!!

The lace is by Wright's, the pearl centered satin flowers are from Joann's, Prima flower and a Basic Grey Opaline half pearl gave me the appeal I was looking for.  (If you look closely, the flowers in her hand are the same shade of blue ... how cool is that!)

Well, I'd better get off the computer ... I'm meeting my friend Jane (Anything but ... Plain Jane) for lunch and I'm going to be late!  Yikes!!  Thanks for stopping by today ... hope to see you later today with my Crafty Secrets Challenge creation!

Do You Like Flowers???

Well of course you do!  Everyone likes flowers and I just couldn't wait to create using this beautiful Delphinium digi image created by my Scottish friend Teri Sherman for her store called "Delicious Doodles".

I printed it several times because I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted to do with it ... and yes, the "real" flower does come in all these colors! (I colored mine using Prismacolor markers)  I've grown them in the past and really need to plant some in my gardens here in Akron.

I see Teri now has a "Lupin" digi available ... looks like a shopping trip in my future!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!!  We are meeting friends from Toledo "half way" for dinner in Huron, Ohio.  A little over an hour for each of us ... a nice way to stay in touch and not need the entire weekend!  Should be fun!

What a FUN DAY ...

These are the two ladies that got me started in my scrapbooking/card making addiction!!!  LOL!!  Mindy Russell (left) and my daughter, Carolyn (right).

My daughter sold Creative Memories and got me started in scrapbooking and her friend, Mindy was a SU rep who also scrapbooked with us and that is where I started stamping.

Mindy is a Neonatal Nurse by profession and when jobs got tight here in Ohio she took a position in Florida and moved there with her family 3 years ago.  She came in town this week and I (we) were thrilled to link up with her and have lunch.

As luck would have it, Mindy accidently "ran over" her camera (she still tried taking photos) and I forgot my camera so I used my phone ... they didn't come out too bad really!

It's always nice to spend time with my daughter & grandkids ... but to see Mindy again was a real delight!!  We enjoyed lunch and as you can see ... got a little goofy at times ... but WOW, what a great day!!

Thanks so much for letting me share my HAPPY day with you all!!  Here's wishing you a wonderful weekend!

WAVING "GOODBYE" TO MINDY!!
(Hope to see you again the next
time your home for a visit!)

Joan's Gardens Challenge #3

WOW, how exciting!!  I won last week's challenge over at Joan's Gardens!  Yippee!!

This week, for Challenge #3 at Joan's Gardens, Joan has asked us to use FLORAL designer paper along with Martha Stewart border & corner punches.

WOW, did I get lucky!!  Only just now did I realize she requested "floral" dp ... I was in a butterfly mood with these loopy MS punches and MISSED the word FLORAL for the dp!  Yikes ... I really lucked out withe the fact that most all the patterns in this beautiful Webster's Pages designer paper has flowers on it!

Both butterfly punches are also Martha Stewart and the sentiment is by Hero Arts.  Basic Grey opaline half pearls adorn each of the butterflies.

I hope you like it!  I think this was a GREAT challenge idea!  What do you think??  Why not join us??  See you at Joan's Gardens!!

News from SQUIGGLEFLY ...

... as I was saying in a prior posting ... come July 1st, I will be a member of the Squigglefly DT and I'm so happy & excited about that!  Here's a couple samples using Angela Donato's - "Sending My Love" image:

Did you know Squigglefly has a REWARDS program?  Yes, that's right ... The rewards program is very simple for you to sign up for and it tracks how much you spend at Squigglefly.

For every $15.00 you spend you can pick a free image - there are no restrictions on the free image you choose either - you can even pick sets!  You can let your points build up until you're ready to use them.  If by chance you join the rewards program in the middle of the month & you've already bought images during the month - just write Squigglefly and let them know and they will credit what you spent in the same month toward your rewards! How cool is that!!!

Another little thing you might not know - if your computer crashes and you haven't backed up your images - contact Squigglefly and they will look up your purchases and send your download links to you again!  WOW now that's a bonus!!
So there you go ... some awesome programs you probably didn't even know about!!  I know I DIDN'T ... but I do now!!!  Be sure to hop on over to the Squigglefly Store to see all the amazing images available!  There are so many artists, I'm sure you'll find a style just for you!!

OH >>>  OH >>>  OH >>>  OH >>>

I nearly forgot to tell you ... Squigglefly is now on PaperCraft Planet.  That's right ... you can chat with all the ladies and the artists right HERE.  Go check 'em out!!

HaHaHa!  I bet you're wondering what I'm talking about, LOL!!!

Well, today Courtney over at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge Blog has asked us to create using a "dog" as the theme.  I couldn't help but use one of the doggie images from *Wink *Wink Ink ... specifically DOXIE. Isn't he just the cutest little puppy!!  Of course I had to put him behind a fence ... didn't want him getting lost.

Especially since our sponsor this week is *Wink *Wink Ink ... check the challenge blog for all the details on what you could win!

Please be sure to pop on over to the challenge blog and check out the other fun creations by the DT and why not join in on the fun!!  I look forward to seeing your "dog gone" creations!!  Happy Stamping Everyone!

Crafty Secrets Challenge #125 - DE-STRESSING

Hello again everyone!  Before I venture outdoors (into the heat) to try and finish my weeding & mulching (so far behind this year!!) ... I would like to share another creation with you.

This is the card I created for the Crafty Secrets Forum Challenge over on SCS.  Our hostess for today is Marcy and she has ask us to DE-STRESS with DISTRESSING.

Here is the recipe for this card:
Stamps:  Crafty Secrets (Sweet Stuff) ... image is from the Crafty Secrets (Homemade) booklet
Papers:  Cranberry & Vanilla cardstock, Webster's Pages dp, DCWV dp
Inks:  Versafine black, Ranger vintage photo
Accessories:  Vintage button, distresser, silver Prisma pencil

If you have any Crafty Secrets products, please feel free to join in on the fun!!  We give clues for the challenge each Monday ... then the actual challenge is posted on Tuesday!  Hope to see you there!

Okay ... I can't delay any longer ... out into the heat I go!!!  Have a great day!!  Hugs to you all for being kind enough to stop by and leave me some lovin'  ... you're the best!!

It's MIDNIGHT MADNESS time ...

That's correct ... it's Tuesday and that means MIDNIGHT MADNESS SKETCH CHALLENGE time!  I am always impressed with the sketches on this site ... who comes up with all these ideas???  Who ever it is, they are doing an amazing job!!!

I had a request from my mother to make a birthday card for a young lady who will be receiving a "vintage" dolly for her birthday this coming weekend.  So, I decided to use a combination of the two sketches offered for my card.  The image I chose to use if from Art Creation Friday (you can find the link on my Vintage Creations & Links page) and I thought it was perfect for the occasion.
My mother also requested the sentiment "A Sweet Doll for a Sweet Doll" so I broke it up and put half on the front and the other half on the inside.

Here is a close up of this adorable little girl image.  Isn't she the sweetest little thing!!

Here is the recipe for this creation:
Stamps:  Wordsworth
Papers:  K&Co. Ancestry dp, Mulberry cs & vellum, Mint cs, Whisper White cs
Inks:  Versafine Black, Ranger Vintage Photo
Accessories:  Image from Art Creations Friday, Computer generated sentiment, Nestabilities, Kaiser half pearls, Martha Stewart floral & leaf punches (to create flowers ... see tutorial by Selma Stevenson HERE

I also thought you might like to see the inside of the card.  I simply mimicked the front using scraps of the same K&Co. designer paper then added my computer generated sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you've enjoyed my creation.  Please pop back later when I will have my Crafty Secrets Challenge creation to share with you!  Have a wonderful day!!

Wink Wink Ink DT fun & Joan's Gardens.

Happy Monday Everyone!!
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!  Mine was busy ... the weather was amazing and I got tons of outside work done!  Kind of sore today but that's okay, everything looks so nice!!

It's time for a little *Wink *Wink Ink fun and today my DT creation utilizes the adorable little fawn image called "Deer Friend".  I've taken advantage of the time saving PRE-COLORED image and printed it twice for this card.

Aren't they cute!!  I had several scraps of designer paper laying on my work table so I just got creative and used up some of those scraps.  I also like how the MS icicle border punch can double as grass.  Hope you like it!!

Don't forget about the challenge going on over on OUR BLOG (you still have 6 more days to play) and be sure to check out our new Community Page at CDAC.  Let us know what you'd like to see & do ... we are always open to suggestions!!

Now how about some vintage fun!!

Another card I created over the weekend was my 2nd card for my friend Joan Fricker's challenge over on her Joan's Gardens blog.  This is week #2 for her challenges and she's asked for "Vintage using Nestabilities".  This beautiful dp is from Webster's Pages and the Nestabilites is Labels 10.  I have also made these beautiful vellum flowers using the tutorial from my friend Selma Stevenson.  You have to check these out ... they are so easy and look so wonderful on any style card/project.

Well, even though I got a lot done over the weekend, there is STILL more mulching to be done!  I guess I'd better get out there and get some work done before it gets toooooooo hot!!  This old body doesn't like that heat any more!!!  Hope you have a great day!!!  Thanks for stopping by ... I can't express how much it means to me!!!  HUGS YA'LL!!

Stamp By Step

Happy Sunday Afternoon Everyone!

We have a birthday party to go to this afternoon for the little girl next door but before I go I wanted to share with you a few creations I came up with for my friend Cheryl, over at Stamp By Step.

Cheryl has an amazing array of products for your crafting needs and today I'm using DESIGNER PAPER.  Specifically Webster's Pages and Graphic45.

Both of these creations are using Webster's Pages (Lullaby Lane/Life's Portraits).  On the first card I have only had to add a sentiment, ribbon & flowers.  On the second card, the image is from Art Creations Friday (you can find the link on my Vintage Creations & Links page) and the flourish corner is a stamp by Impression Obsession.  I made the vellum flower using the technique by Selma Stevenson ... you can find her tutorial HERE.   How fun & simple to create a masterpiece when you have these amazing designer papers to start your creation.
This card is another VERY simple card and I have used the Graphic45 paper called "On the Boardwalk". I had actually selected this page to use the flip-side but didn't want to cut into these awesome, vintage photos so this is what I've come up with.

Please be sure to pop on over today and check out all the wonderful products available for your crafting needs!  Every month you can also find great savings at Stamp By Step ... for instance, for the month of June, Cheryl has a special going on where you get 30% off all Stampendous  Stamps.

Well ... time to PARTY!!!
Hope your weekend has been amazing!

A FUN creation and EXCITING News ...

Hello Everyone!
I hope you are having a wonderful weekend!!  It is really HOT in Ohio so I'm spending a lot of time in the "crafting cave" (it's like a meat locker down there, lol).

One of the images I played with yesterday is another freebie offered over at the CDAC Community by an group called Digital Design Divas.  You can check out their community page HERE.

Isn't this cute!!!  When I saw this image I thought ... now how am I going to color this kitty???  Well during the night I thought "why not just chalk around him" so that's what I did and I love how it makes him appear to be white in color ... how fun!!  The only coloring I did was on the bee and I did his eyes green.

NOW FOR MY EXCITING NEWS ...

Beginning July 1st, I will be one of the new members of the Squigglefly Design Team!  How awesome is that!!   There are so many amazing artists and fun creations to play with at Squigglefly ... I'm really looking forward to the great fun this group will offer!

Here is a fun card I created using a Chesney Young image called "A Snack & A Nap" from the Squigglefly Store.  I also took the liberty of adding the *Wink *Wink Ink "catnap" image on top of the sofa ... it just seemed the right thing to do!!  TeeHee!

Thanks so much for stopping by today and sharing in my fun!!  Tomorrow I will have a new *Wink *Wink Ink creation to share with you!  Don't forget about the challenge going on over on our blog ... you still have time to play!!
